This one is super non-obvious: google calendar only syncs your default calendar to your calDAV shares; you have to configure it to sync additional calendars using google’s sites. Bonus: you need to configure this on a phone-by-phone basis FROM a mobile device: Using Google Sync with iOS Calendar
